7. The Chariot of Osiris

Be careful what you want...

7. The Chariot of Osiris. This is the chariot of worldly power. Osiris raises a sword in his right hand, the symbol of the rule of force. This is not the Divine way. When Peter raised a sword and cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant, Jesus told him to put the sword away, and He healed the ear. The two imps below Osiris symbolize the nature of those who ultimately subjugate themselves to the reign of power-crazed emperors: their beastly nature becomes strong and they become man-beast amalgams. The Spirit is dead and they lose the God-given dignity of freedom of conscience, freedom of thought and freedom of speech.

Do you want to be a goon for a power-hungry antichrist? The card on this figure, and his companion on card 5, The Master of the Arcanes stand for the fabled duo to woo the inhabitants of the world in its closing hours, the Antichrist and the False Prophet.

Centuries before the Bible warned of this deadly duo, the tarot cards were holding out the same warning. Let the reader be forewarned!

You can't pretend you haven't been warned.
